Dubai Mall is the world’s largest shopping center in terms of area (112.4 ha), which has over 1,200 stores and 200 restaurants and cafes (and is still expanding!). Annually, it is visited by up to 80 million people. It is located opposite the world’s tallest building – the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and the world’s largest fountain – Dubai Fuontain. As if these records were few, one of the largest aquariums in the world – Dubai Aquarium, where over 33,000 animals live, and the total capacity of the tanks is over 10 million liters of water.
This is the largest aquarium in the world, occupies three floors. About 70 different species swim in it, including 300 sharks and rays. Even the glass wall (or more precisely acrylic) with huge dimensions of 33 meters wide and over 8 meters high is breathtaking! This place is available without admission tickets. What’s more, at the top of the transparent pane is the world’s largest video wall that has received three Guinness World Record titles.
On the ground floor there is a tunnel passing through the center of a giant aquarium. But you can watch them not only from the tunnel, but also diving in the aquarium yourself. You do not need any skills, children from 8 years old can dive.
You get a diving mask and enter a special protective cage, which allows you to get as close to water predators as possible as well as while feeding. The brave can also try diving without a cage or diving with a Go Pro camera, and then take the footage as a souvenir.
A great experience is the opportunity to swim in a boat with a glass bottom, and in the Underwater ZOO (we haven’t seen such a solution in any of the previously visited Aquariums).
